Footnotes
1: "We will run"
Why does she want to “get away quickly,” or what does she want to get away from? We are not told. It could be to get away from the chaos and confusion around them, or a hectic schedule, or to get away from the eyes of people around them so they can be alone together. Whatever it is, it comes from a need she has deep within her, a need which appears to be filled by the next statement, indicating that it is most likely the need to be alone together.

When you read “chamber” think “inner chamber,” or a chamber within a chamber, a room within a larger structure, i.e. an inner room. That is why “chamber” was another word for “bedroom,” because it was an inner room of the house. This was only known to the wealthy because the poor did not have a separate room for sleeping, at least not a separate room for the parents. By the time of Jesus, many families often slept together in what we would call a loft. Many people around the world today do not have the luxury of a separate bedroom. For those who had the means to build a larger, more complicated house, the purpose of a bedroom was for intimate closeness away from the eyes of others. Thus chambers speaks of intimacy.
I believe this sentence is the fulfillment of the desire expressed by “Draw me after you. We will run.” He has met her need by creating the opportunity for a close, intimate relationship in all its facets.
I am convinced the two primary characters of the Song were a married couple throughout the entire song. I find the problems confronting the assumption that they were married to be minor problems and easily overcome; however, to assume that they were not yet married presents serious problems, and there is no satisfactory way around them.

Wine symbolized prosperity and happiness. The daughters benefited and enjoyed the prosperity of their father the king. But their mother kept reminding them how blessed they were, because they could have been born to the working class as she had been.
