10 Then the third angel sounded his trumpet and
a great star,
burning like a torch

the rivers
and upon a third of
the springs
of waters;
Paraphrase
Then the third angel delivered his foretaste of what was to come and a great demonstration of God’s power and glory bringing punishment and the knowledge of why punishment is necessary, was removed from its place among the demonstrations of God’s glory, and it came to bear on a limited portion of the sources of material abundance,
and on a limited portion of
the sources of refreshing encouragement that is so abundant;

Burning was a symbol for punishment, but a torch served for light, and light stood for knowledge. Combining those two images seems to imply punishment with the knowledge of why punishment is necessary.
