Translation

Then white robes were given to each of them, and they were told to rest a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, and their brothers who were about to be killed as they had been, would be reached.

Then outward demonstrations of their inward purity were given to each of them,

and they were told to rest a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, and their brothers who were about to be killed as they had been, would be reached.

This demonstration of power was intended to encourage the Christian martyrs by letting them know that justice would one day be visited upon those who mistreated them. Notice that it follows directly on the heels of the demonstration of power that was directed at the unbelievers; the unbelievers could expect punishment and death while the martyrs could expect justice.
