Notice that the word “salvation” seems to come out of nowhere; there is something missing. The missing part has been added in a variety of ways by various translators. I choose to reach back to the word “spoken” in the previous verse and see in it the idea of a prophecy, a word that was spoken by God that must be fulfilled because it is His nature to fulfill what He has spoken. Therefore the paraphrase column uses the word “foretold.”
2: “from our enemies and those who hate us”
This is probably a reference to God bringing the children of Israel out of Egypt.
