And the angel said, “Do not fear, MARY, for you have indeed found favor

Paraphrase

The angel also said, “Do not fear, O REBELLIOUS ONE, for you have indeed been a recipient of grace from THE CREATOR AND OWNER OF ALL THINGS, meaning that He accepts you and is favorably inclined toward you.

While “found favor” is an acceptable translation, there is so much more here than that. It is basically the word “grace” which, at its root means that God is “leaning toward you.” That in turn means He accepts you and is favorably inclined toward you; He will show grace in his dealings with you. This is the third time Mary has been told that God accepts her and is favorably inclined toward her.
