The reason for this stupid rule is that THE DEITY FIGURE knows that when you eat it, you will be able to understand and comprehend reality, in fact, you will become just like THE DEITY FIGURE, for you will be able to distinguish between good and evil.”

Since the name ELOHIM is itself a plural form we can never be sure in cases like this if it is referring to the one true God, or to many gods. Context is our only guide for these situations, and the context of this usage points toward the meaning that we would become like the one true God, hence the accusation of jealousy.
