So I said, Wisdom is better than strength. Yet the wisdom of the poor man is held in contempt and his words are not heard.
Paraphrase
I say that this proves that being wise is better than being strong, for strength could never have saved that city. It also shows that the wisdom of a poor man is disparaged because he is poor, and people do not follow what such a man says [because he is poor.]
