Translation

And even if he lives a thousand years twice over, but has not seen enjoyment, do not all go to one place?

Paraphrase

And even if he lives one thousand years twice over, but if he does not experience joy, he is no better off, for don’t they both end up in the same place – the grave?

1: “all go to one place”:

The stillborn child ends up in the grave having experienced only peace and comfort, but the miserable rich man arrives at the grave having experienced only worry, strife, and frustration. That is the final product of a life lived with the wrong attitudes about material wealth!
