Troublesome Topic: STAY AS YOU ARE
Lesson 10 of 14If you are one of the many people who has divorced and remarried, don’t change your marital status.
Go to footnote numberDissolving a marriage is always devastating for children involved and it could leave the woman in a vulnerable position if she has no one to care for her.
Stay married and determine to please God the best you can. Earnestly strive to follow the principles of authority, proper relationships and design.
God can take you from where you are, with all your baggage, and can give you joy and peace, and a ministry. Start from where you are.
Do not focus on your own happiness, or your pain, or your wants.
Focus on putting God first in every aspect of your life.
It is possible to please God after a divorce and remarriage. It is similar to other things that we do which negatively affect us and others around us.
We cannot change the past. But we can deal wisely with our present in order to shape a better future. Wisely means following the key principles of authority, proper relationship and design.
God knows we get ourselves into “situations” and He accepts us anyway. He does not remove the consequences of our choices, but He accepts us with our baggage, and everyone has baggage.

1: I Corinthians 7
In I Corinthians chapter 7 Paul tells people to remain in the condition in which they find themselves, but the context is very different from what I am talking about, so I don’t think that passage applies here.
