Paraphrase
That which is higher than we are and out of our control, that which we cannot even understand, was swept aside as effortlessly as some small act we do regularly without thinking. The immovable places were moved out of the way, and those hard-to-reach places, where safety is based on the difficulty of access, realized too late that they were not inaccessible to Him, for He swept them away easily.
Footnotes
1
The Greek does not use the word “removed” twice but puts the mountains and the islands in the same clause with only one verb. I have divided the two ideas into two clauses in order to make it easier to connect the paraphrase to the translation.
